EVENT MANAGEMENT

(Experience servicing government & NGOs, businesses and cultural organizations)

Conceptual & Technical:
  • Establishing work priorities.
  • Planning, developing and delivering events (up to 600 visitors) from conception to completion.
  • Directing marketing, press and media campaigns, logistics, documentation, translations and communications.
  • Writing, editing, proofreading, designing and translating communications documents and marketing materials.
  • Preparing event programs and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Drafting planning documents, schedules, floor plans and detailed technical lists.
  • Preparing questionnaires, compiling and analysing statistics.
  • Overseeing registrations and ticket sales.
  • Handling expense claims, invoices, payments and databases.
  • Renting and purchasing equipment, materials, services and supplies.
  • Researching and negotiating contracts (venue rentals, consultants and suppliers).
 
Soft Skills:
  • Recruiting, training and supervising personnel, interns and volunteers.
  • Acting as a liaison for guest speakers and participants. 
  • Giving public speaking presentations.
  • Handling media inquiries and providing customer service.
  • Negotiating contracts with participants, managers, agents and distributors.
  • Supervising documentation units (photographers and videographers).
  • Coordinating with diverse event personnel including administrative staff, technicians, security agents, consultants, graphic designers and translators.
  • Networking extensively with the public, media, business, educational, cultural and all levels of governmental institutions.
  • Representing clients in key meetings and negotiations with business, educational, cultural and governmental institutions.

As Curator and Administrator of the Visual Arts Program, I planned, organized and delivered professional development workshops, international exhibitions and educational activities, working in partnership with la Ville de Montréal, the OBORO New Media Lab and the Embassy of Mongolia to Canada.

As Team Leader of Event Marketing, I directed the marketing, press and media campaigns for the launch of a new giant out door mosaiculture garden and horticultural attraction in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec.

The Center for Research Action on Race-Relations

As Research and Communications Officer, I organized national conferences, forums and fundraising events involving federal and provincial government agencies, foreign embassies, law enforcement units, civil associations, media and educational institutions.
